ROSCOE LAPARD, 'HORSERADISH TWIN' DIES
ROSCOE F. LaPARD, of 1109 East Paris SE, one of Kent County's famous "Horseradish Twins," died Saturday at Butterworth Hospital. He was 73.
Mr. LaPard and his brother FLOYD, who died in Feb. 1955, were well known as folk music performers in the State. They were born in Grand Rapids Township and gained their nickname by selling vegetables, grown on their farm, to local grocers. The "twins," who were former members of the Paris Grange, played at square dances more than 30 years.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Metcalf chapel with burial in the Martin Cemetery.

LA PARD - ROSCOE F. LaPARD, aged 73, of 1199 E. Paris Rd., SE, passed away Saturday noon in Butterworth Hospital. Surviving are two nieces MRS. JASPER SPIDELL and MRS. AMBER WILLIAMSON, a nephew, JAMES E. PERKINS. Mr. LaPard was taken to the Metcalf Mortuary where services will be held at 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, Dr. David Otis Fielder of Wealthy St. Baptist Church officiating. Interment Martin Cemetery.
