I am writing a Lamkin genealogy book and believe that I have found enough documentation to connect three Find-A-Grave memorials that are not currently cross referenced. The three are the father Layman Hartwell Johnson (married to Cordelia Angelina Lamkin) and daughters Mary Ann Johnson and Jennie L Johnson. I am sending this same suggestion to all three websites. Feel free to copy any part you want.

The following is a transcription of Layman Hartwell Johnson’s obituary:
Monroe Democrat, Friday, February 7, 1908
“L. Hartwell Johnson for many years a resident of LaSalle township and one of the best known farmers in the county, died on Wednesday, January 29th, at the home of his son Charles C. Johnson of Trenton. The funeral services were held last Saturday in Trenton and the remains were brought to LaSalle for burial. Mr. Johnson was born in New York state nearly 80 years ago and came to Michigan with his parents when a boy. They settled in LaSalle and this was the home of the deceased for almost his entire life. In 1906 he went to California on a health and pleasure trip and he returned the latter part of last year. Mr. Johnson was a familiar figure in this city where nearly everybody knew him. For many years he made a specialty of raising melons and his crop was always disposed of among his customers, for he was unusually successful in producing the best and earliest melons. He is survived by his widow and eight children. The children are Charles C, of Trenton; Daniel, Elroy, Mrs. Mary Mohr, Orpha, Susan and Sarah Johnson, all of California; and Mrs. Emma Van Doren, of Adrian.”
