Nellie Garner Lyles, wife of P. L. Lyles, died Sunday night, August 22, 1920, after an illness of two months. She was born in Marklesburg, Pa., Sept. 12, 1869, was married at Salem, Mo., June 17, 1888. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Garner, of Salem, survive her, also two brothers, E. H. Garner and Harry Garner, of Salem and two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Covert of Houston and Mrs. Harold Copley of near Kansas City, Mo. She leaves a husband and one daughter, Mrs. Nellie A. Johnston, of Frankford, Mo., and three sons, Donald, Robert and John. She was a faithful wife and loving mother and a loyal friend. Words fail in picturing her worth as we knew her, and our hearts are too full of grief to dwell on the subject yet, so we will simply say she is now asleep in the arms of Jesus, safe in the harbor of Eternal Rest.
