Kathryn Aiello, a homemaker for 53 years, died Monday at Delta Memorial Hospital in Antioch. She was 70.

The Monterey native moved to Pittsburg 42 years ago. She was a member of St. Peter Martyr Church in Pittsburg and enjoyed baking pies, gardening, knitting and fishing with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack A. Aiello of Pittsburg; daughters, Olga Edwards of Rio Vista and Mary Ann Keeling of Penn Valley; son, Salvatore Aiello of Chico; sisters, May Bell of Tehama and Ann Balesteri of Monterey; brother, Jack Carmenita of Monterey; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services: Mass, 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Martyr Church, Pittsburg, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7, at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
