Sal V. Aiello, a partner in Aiello Furniture Store in Pittsburg for 50 years, died Thursday at Lone Tree Convalescent Hospital in Antioch. He was 81.
The lifelong resident of Pittsburg graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1932. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Pittsburg Retailers Association, St. Peter Martyr Church and Kiwanis Club, and was president of Knights of Columbus of Pittsburg, with third and fourth degrees. He was a charter member of the Pittsburg Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Petrina Aiello of Pittsburg; sons, Giachino Aiello of Oroville and Alex Aiello of Discovery Bay; and two grandchildren.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Church of the Good Shepherd in Pittsburg, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m., with vigil at 7 p.m., Sunday at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel.
