He was a son of Christian A. and Susanna Possinger Toffton. A native of Sullivan County, Pa., he has lived here for 61 years.
He is survived by three sons, John E., Jr. and James W., of Rocky Mount, N.C. and Staff Sgt. Joseph Lee USAF, of Langley Field; one brother, Archie R. Toffton of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Frances Harris, of South Norfolk, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Sykes Funeral Home tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Riverside Memorial Park.
