Catesby Woodford "Casey" Bramel, age 87, husband of Eleanor Ellington Bramel, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center, in Hazard, Kentucky. He was born January 21, 1921, in Bourbon County, Kentucky, to the late Sam and Myrtle Davis Bramel. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, a retired Stamler employee and a member of Irvingsville Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: a son, David Allen Bramel, of Cynthiana; two step-sons, David Keith Shrout, of Cynthiana, and George Thomas Shrout, of Carlisle; a step-daughter, Wanda Shrout, of Carlisle; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: his first wife, Oma Bramel; a daughter, Shelly Bramel; and a grandson, Billy Joe Coy.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Albert Simmons. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
