Dick was born to Wilbur Ivan and Janet (York) Bridges in Des Moines, Iowa. Dick graduated from Boone High School and attended Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa. Dick followed in his step-father's footsteps, spending his entire career in the insurance business, working as a field agent for American National Life Insurance Company. He was a Bass Master's Fisherman and enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing and coaching softball and watching sporting events (especially the L.A. Dodgers) and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Stefani) Reese of West Des Moines; daughters, Cassandra Reese-Haller of Urbandale and Stephanie L. Maier of West Des Moines; mother, Janet Y. Reese of Winterhaven, FL; brothers, Fred Reese II of Polk City and Bob Reese of Ankeny; sisters, Anne Schalinske of Burnsville, MN, and Deb Uriel of Omaha, NE; and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lieutenant Wilbur I. Bridges (who was reported MIA during WW II) and his step-father, Frederick Reese, Sr; and grandparents, Ivan and Mabel Bridges, Cecil and Bessie Reese and Lester E. and Marie York.
