Born in Chester, Mr. Grant was retired from Hoechst Celanese. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the Rodman unit of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Annie Matthews Grant; his daughter, Susan Grant of Catawba; and his sister, Cornelia Carlton of Chester.
