A FIRST WIFE'S DEVOTION

Austin, Texas, May 15. - Jim Nixon, who shot and instantly killed Dempsey Brown two weeks ago, died this morning from the effects of wounds received from Brown's shotgun. The doctor's had pronounced him practically out of danger, but he took a turn for the worse yesterday. Nixon's first wife, sister of the man he killed, came in and gave the undertaker her only horse to secure a decent burial for him; while his second wife has paid no attention to him whatever.
