Mr. Paul Bradley Hudson, son of the late Jessie and Winnie Lee Hudson, was born July 2, 1956 in Conway, South Carolina. God called Paul home late Monday night, July 30, 2012 and took him to eternal rest.

He was an active member of Greater St. James AME Church. He showed his love as an active leader by serving on the Men's Usher Board, Trustee Board, Finance Committee, Inspirational Choir and Male Choir. Paul also served as a class leader and was President of the Sons of Allen.
Paul loved his church, but he also loved giving back to the community. He was a member of the Horry County School Board since 2001, representing District 7. Paul was said to be a champion of student achievement and constantly sought for ways to boost achievement in the school system. He was a member of the South Carolina Caucus of Black School Board Members, where he served as treasurer. Paul was a Mason in Moonlight Lodge #395 where he served as secretary for over 15 years. He also worked for Rhue's Mortuary as a Funeral Service Associate.

Paul was a 1975 graduate of Peekskill High School and received an Associate Degree in Accounting from Northern Westchester Tech in 1977. He also received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Horry Georgetown Technical College. Paul worked in Banking for over 30 years.

Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years, Darlene Stanley Hudson.

Paul is survived by one son, Christopher Craig (Michelle) Hudson of Conway, South Carolina, one daughter, Jaleesa Marie Hudson of Greenbelt, Maryland, one grandson, Christopher Darnell Hudson II, his mother-in-law, Marie Davis Stanley of Conway, South Carolina, five brothers; Joe (Ruby) Johnson of Aiken, South Carolina, Charles Crosby of Temple Hills, Maryland, Eddie (Loretta) Johnson of Conway, South Carolina, Donald (Diane) Hudson of Conway, South Carolina and Mack Hudson of Conway, South Carolina, two brothers-in-law; Richard (Doris) Jones of Columbia, South Carolina and Tyrone (Sheryl) Stanley of Jacksonville, Florida, three sisters-in-law; Bessie Johnson of Peekskill, New York, Ida Pearl Crosby of Conway, South Carolina and Martha Stanley of Bowie, Maryland, two very special nieces; Katrina (Adrian) Harris of Bowie, Maryland and Sheryl Sumlin of Atlanta, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Devoted friends; Richard Cochran, Sylvia Grissett, Marcia Ransom and Sheila Ransom.

Visitation will be held in the Greater St. James AME Church Friday, August 3, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Greater St. James Church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sons of Allen (a youth mentoring program) addressed to Greater St. James AME Church 2818 Oak Street Conway, SC 29526. Rhue's Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
