James C. Timmerman is the son of Mariah CONNIFF and Jonathan Timmerman of the family of Frederick Wilhelm Zimmerman (now Timmerman) of Thurgen, Dussenhaffen Evangelish, Switzerland.

He married Mary Anna DORN, daughter of Mahala PARKMAN and John Dorn of the family of Margaret Eve and Peter Dorn, Sr. of Hochenheim Baden, Rheinland, Pfalz, Germany. They had ten children: Julia A., John L., Mary Frances A., J. Tolbert, Milledge Bonham (Mark), Jesse Washington, Sumpter D., George S., Ella Virginia (Jennie, and Mc. S.
