Death of Mrs. R. G. Young
Mrs. R. G. Young passed away Saturday night at her late home, 119 Ripley Street, after an illness of a number of years, her late illness, however, having extended over a period of but six weeks. Her death was caused by dyspepsia and insomnia. Deceased was born in Pontiac, Michigan., and was 63 years of age, April 27 last. Forty-two years ago she and Mr. Young were married in Owosso, Michigan. They later moved to Chicago, where they lived for five years. They came here 23 years ago and have resided here since, with the exception of five years, spent in southern Illinois. Mr. Young was a carpenter and came here to erect the Congregational church, his wife accompanying him. She is survived by the husband, three children, Grant R., John N., of this city and Mrs. Ross E. Nolan, the latter of Francesville. Two step-children, Fred M. Young of Lincoln Neb., and Ellsworth E. Young of Oklahoma City, Okla., and two brothers John and Richard Mason, and one sister, Miss Margaret Mason, of Rochester, Mich., also survive.
In the death of Mrs. Young, a true Christian woman has been called away. She was a life time member of the Congregational church and was prominently connected with the Woman's Christian Temperance union. She has held the position of county superintendent and also president of the local organization and has been delegate to the state convention. She was a hard worker and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the late home, Rev. O. L. Kiplinger officiated, assisted by Rev. A. J. Waller.
Fred M. Young reached the city Monday. Miss Margaret Mason, a sister, has been here for several weeks.
