Born July 16, 1915 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to George W and Millie (Ridley) Turner, she married Paul G. Lowery, Sr. on February 14, 1934 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1968 in Pekin.
Also preceding her are one son; one daughter; four brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are two sons, David Lowery of Pekin, Paul Lowery Jr. of Tremont; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grand children.
Marie had worked as a nurse for OSF, St. Francis Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a past member of Pekin Toastmasters and an election judge for Tazewell County.
Marie loved flowers and enjoyed sewing, walking and bowling. She loved helping people and volunteering for Pekin Hospital and the Red Cross.
She had been a very active member of the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
