Funeral Mass for Frank W. "Bill" Bauerla Sr., 83, of Jeffersonville, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Jeffersonville, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.
He was born June 16, 1929 in Jeffersonville to Frank T. and Eleanor Bauerla. He worked for Colgate Palmolive Company for 38 years until his retirement in 1983. He was an avid bowler, and enjoyed traveling and woodworking. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where he helped with just about anything he was asked to do. He used his woodworking skills on many of those requests. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years and the love of his life, Nelta Bauerla, of Jeffersonville; sons, Frank Bauerla Jr. and wife Cindy, of Elizabeth, and Michael Bauerla and wife Nancy, of New Albany; daughters, Teresa Hoffmeister and husband, Park, of Memphis, Diana Haffield and husband, Jerry, of Eckerty, and Connie Patterson and husband, Chuck, of Floyds Knobs; brother, Gary Bauerla and wife, Pat, of Charlestown; sister, Betty Ann Hutt and husband, George, of Clarksville; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four nephews; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eleanor Bauerla and brother, Theodore Bauerla
