Brian Thomas Elden, 46, a resident of the Forest Grove community died July 30, 2012 at his home.
Celebration of Brian's Life will be held at Hagg Lake, Sain Creek Picnic Area on Sunday August 5, 2012 from 11am to 3pm.
A potluck reception will follow.
Brian was born on January 14, 1966 in Portland, OR. He was raised in Tigard and moved with his family to Madras during high school. Brian graduated from Madras High School with the Class of 1984.
He met his wife, Christine Steed while working at Fred Meyer. They soon began dating and were married on September 11, 1994 in Kona, Hawaii. Following their marriage they made their home in Aloha until 2001 when they moved to Forest Grove.
He worked in the grocery business all his life. Brian started as a box boy in Madras, OR while in high school and soon became a produce manager for Fred Meyers. He had worked for several Fred Meyer stores during his 25 years of service including the Bend, Newberg, Raleigh Hills, Sunset, and most recently the Walker Rd store.
Brian loved the outdoors and he was an avid fisherman. He also loved his dogs and they went where Brian went when he wasn't working. He was a good cook and a master BBQ chef. He loved to sing, take weekend beach trips with his wife and tell stories to his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a brother; Mark
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine, a son, Anthony of Hillsboro, OR, two step children; Nick Berry of Alaska, Jamie Ferguson of Seattle, his mother and step-father; Shirley and Phillip Landauer of McMinnville, OR, father and step-mother; John and Pat Elden of Hillsboro, OR, two brothers and their spouses; Michael and Maureen Elden of Tigard, OR, Kevin and Heidi Elden of Tigard, OR, a granddaughter; Amara, five step siblings; Kelly, Toni, Lori, Cindy and Tim, numerous nieces and nephews and his dogs; Brandi and Kodiak.
The family suggests donations in Brian's name to Bonnie L. Hays Animal Shelter (503-846-7041) in lieu of flowers.
