Snyder - Services for A. F. Barton, Sr., 80, of Snyder, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Bell-Cypert-Seale Chapel with the Revs. Don Anderson and Jesse Faulkenberry officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Barton died Friday at Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 17, 1908 in Chalk. He married Lois Eugenia Scales on Dec. 21, 1935 in Duffau. She died Aug. 26, 1987.

Mr. Barton worked as a pipe fitter for the City of Snyder and also worked for for the American Magnesium Plant. He was a member of the Baptist church and had lived in Snyder since 1954.

Survivors include two daughters, Gladys Stanley of Shubuts, Miss., and Ruby Newton of Snyder; three sons,Frank Barton of Sweetwater and Robert Barton and Alvie Barton, Jr., both of Odessa; two sisters, Wanda Beth Henderson and Ruth Nolen both of Frankston; a brother, R. F. Hollingsworth of Frankston; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
