Nancy Rebecca Marsh was born on August 4 1768 in Baltimore, MD to William and Patience (Leavens) Marsh. She was one of twelve siblings. On January 17 1792, Rebecca married Mr John Ferree in Augusta, KY. She was first a farmer's wife in Kentucky, and about 1809, she became a Methodist Preacher's wife in Clermont County, OH. Rebecca was the mother of twelve children; David, William, Moses, John, Isaac, Minerva, Thomas, Snowden, Sarah, Richard, Mary Ann and Philip Gatch. The Methodist Church of Boston (which is Owensville today) was started in John and Rebecca's house and preaching continued there until a church was built in 1831. She died on June 23 1844 in Stonelick, OH and is buried next to her husband, John, on private property across the road from Stonelick Cemetery, near a row of poplar trees.
