Richard "Dick" Tuschel, age 76 of Rhinelander and formerly of Whitelaw, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, in Rhinelander.

He was born on November 27, 1932, in Whitelaw, WI to Edward and Stella (Weller) Tuschel.

Dick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Whitelaw where he married his wife, Patty Lou, and she preceded him in death in 1989.

He was employed as a mason in construction and was a member of the Masons Union. Following his retirement, he moved to his cottage on Lake Alva.

He married his wife, Joan "Jer" (nee Ohlson) on March 15, 1992. Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Dick is survived by his wife, Joan of Rhinelander; stepson, Scott (Carol) Peterson; granddaughters, Tessa and Paige; two sisters, Dorothy Hodzinski and Georgiana (James) Tracy; and a brother, Edward Tuschel. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Patty Lou; and a brother, Robert.

Graveside services and inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Carlson Funeral Home is assisting Dick's family with arrangements.
