Elizabeth's brother, William M. Speer is buried next to his wife (Mary Kelly, who's name is unreadable on her grave) in a family cemetery in what is now a Peachtree City, GA, Fayette Co, subdivision off Robinson Road and Jennings Yard and Charon Road.
Their parents graves are just opposite William's (and his wife's) and Hester Ann's.
The cemetery occupies about an acre of extremely valuable land surrounded by lovely, expensive homes in this pristine Fayette County, GA, neighborhood. There are very few graves here and vandals have destroyed a few. There are un-named graves here also, quite possibly slave graves.
William M. Speer was born January 29, 1830 and died August 26, 1867. Another one of his sisters, Mary Ann Washington Speer, married Patrick Carmichael ( 1819-1900 ), further linking these families. See family tree.A sister, Hester Ann (Speer ) Harper ( born July 12, 1853 and died October 24, 1906 ) is buried next to her brother. William M. Speer served in the Confederate Army as a Private in Company F of the 2nd Georgia Cavalry.
There is a Veteran's Plaque affixed to his tomb. There are at least two other graves in this cemetery; their condition is very bad. They belong to Rhoda Jennings, 1788-1843 (w/o William Jennings, 1785-1853) and Seaton G. May (Rhoda Jennings grandson), 1839-1847.
Note: The road in this area is called Jennings Yard; must be named for this family. I wonder what the connection to the Speer family might be?

After further research with Patricia Williams Curry, I believe a portion of the above information by Linda Abbott to be inaccurate.
Hester Ann SPEER Harper is the daughter of William M. Speer and Mary Kelly not the sister of William M. Speer and Daughter of Joseph Speer and Elizabeth Ann Riggans as stated above. (WJG 12 March 2012)
