Born Jan. 10, 1925, in Fairmont, she was the youngest child of the late Michael and Christina (Nucciarone) DeCarlo.
On June 16, 1945, she married Patsy Adducchio. With devotion, they shared 54 years as husband and wife until his death in May, 1999.
Mary loved her family. A stay-at-home mother, she dedicated her life to raising her daughter and caring for her husband and grandson. She believed in serving God and was a member of the St. Theresa's Guild at the former St. Joseph's Church. Although she had many friends, she was closest to her sisters with whom she spent many happy hours in years past going to town, shopping, visiting, and talking on the phone. A planner of get-togethers, she loved to host family parties and eagerly looked for occasions to celebrate. Mary was always willing to share generously whatever she had with others. She welcomed all to her home, and no one left without being served and enjoying her food.
Those who knew her loved her. Her absence will leave a hole in their hearts.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina and son-in law, Robert of Fairmont; grandson, Ben Adducchio, of New York City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by her brothers: Joe, Frank, Nick, Tony, and sisters: Theresa Belfiore, Nancy Sciubbo, Virginia Sedera; Mary was the last surviving sibling of the Michael and Christina DeCarlo family.
The family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. Wedneday, Jan 17, at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fairmont.
