Sarah Jane Gard, 74, died at the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lafayette on Friday morning following an illness of three months. Born in Carroll county in 1880, she was the daughter of John and Jane (Campbell) Reef. Her husband preceded her in death in 1952. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are four sons, Lawrence of Lafayette, Clarence of Indianapolis and Victor and Russell, also of Lafayette; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Oley, Mrs. Clara Archer and Mrs. Ethel Kerkoff, all of Lafayette; one brother Wesley Reef of Radnor; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the L. E. Moore & Son Funeral Home in Rossville at 2 p. m. on Sunday. Burial was in the Rossville cemetery.
