Beverly was born July 29, 1935 in Pendleton to Charles and Wilma Lanphier [sic] Jones. She graduated from Eastern Oregon University, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education. For 21 years, she worked for Washington Elementary school where she taught third grade. She married Lyle Phelps on July 1, 1955 in Pendleton. She was a lifelong resident of Pendleton and enjoyed reading, camping, sewing and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Mostly, she loved her grandkids.
She is survived by her daughter, Marla Charlton of Pendleton; granddaughters, Amanda Charlton of El Paso, Texas, Jessica Charlton of Bangkok, Thailand, Justine Bronson of Pendleton; grandson, Adam Charlton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lyle and her daughter, Susan Bronson.
