Stephen and brother Ephraim were at nearby Freehold (now called Durham) (near Coxsackie) Twp., Greene County, New York listed as Huesten.

1807 Stepphen Husted was at Homer Twp., Cortland County, New York working on the roads there with his brother, Benjamin Husted.

Shortly after moving to Holly area, was killed by a tree falling on him as he was cutting it down, before breakfast, (on his property) to prevent it from injuring someone else. Oakland Co., Michgan where Stephen died while chopping down a tree, at yet undiscovered date.

Albert Husted, an intelligent and popular farmer, has resided in Springfield Township since 1834, longer than any other man now living there. He was born in Ontario County, New York, May 30, 1834. His father, Harry W. Husted was born in New York, May 15, 1802. His grandfather was Stephen and his great-grandfather was a native of Ireland, who came to America in the early days. His grandfather came to Michigan in 1834 and was killed in Groveland Township, this county, by a tree falling upon him.
