Daniel served as a Private, Company G, 4th Delaware Infantry during the Civil War.

He enlisted in the 4th Delaware on August 19, 1862 in Leipsic, Delaware for a 3 year term. He was noted as being 22 years old, 5' - 10 1/2" tall, light complexion, light hair, a farmer by trade.

Daniel "Died Of Disease", Typhoid Fever, in a Regimental Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia during the war.
