Burial was in Knowles Cemetery under the direction of Goodner Funeral Home.

Edith Luella Berends was born to Jacob and Eliza Berends on May 6 1888 at Grundy Center, Iowa. In 1891 she came from Iowa to a homestead on the Cimarron River southwest of Englewood, Kansas in what is now Beaver County, Oklahoma.

On September 8, 1907 she was married to Charles Joseph Bond. They homesteaded on a farm northeast of Knowles, where they lived until 1960 when they moved into Forgan. After Mr. Bond died in October of 1961 she made her home in the Beaver County Nursing Home at Beaver.

A lover of flowers, she made a hobby of raising them all during her lifetime, even during her years in the nursing home.

Surviving are two sons, Merle of Knowles and Charles of Beaver; three daughters, Mrs. Veva Keyworth and Mrs. Elvira Bennett of Hutchinson, Kans., and Mrs. Ines Sober of Laverne; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grand-children; and three brothers.
