Ross K. Barney, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother peacefully passed from this life on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in Provo, Utah. He was born November 8, 1933 in Palmyra, Utah to Joseph Alva and Sarah Cathirn Ottesen Barney. Ross spent his childhood in Palmyra and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1952.

He married his sweetheart, Marie Jolley on May 9, 1953 in Palmyra and they were sealed for time and all eternity on July 20, 1984 in the Provo LDS Temple. They are the parents of six wonderful children whom he loved dearly. He spent many joyful hours in the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting with his family. Ross was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ross was a skilled Truck Driver and a National Director and Professional Motivator in Sales. He was a long time member of the Hobble Creek Riding Club, Diamond Fork Riding Club, and Appaloosa Horse Club. He won many local and national awards competing with his horses.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie; one son and five daughters, Kaye (Thayne) Banks, Spanish Fork; Karen Shelton, Heber City; Karma (Mike) Owens, Chandler, AZ; Glen (Darlene) Barney, Roosevelt; Kamille (Dallan) Boothe, Provo; and Kandace (Rand) Hamilton, Spanish Fork. He leaves behind 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren who adore him. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving step-father, Melvin Snow; siblings, Floyd, Oral, Ervin, Madge, Della, Cathirn, Glen; step-siblings, Blair Snow, Mary Jane Petersen, Gene Snow; and a grandson, Joshua Dallan Boothe.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salem 9th Ward Chapel, 60 S. Main Street, Salem, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday evening, August 3, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork and on Saturday morning at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
