Queen of Denmark and Norway. Her parents were Duke Ulrich von Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Duchess Elisabeth (born princess of Denmark and Norway - her parents were king Frederik I and Queen Sophie). Married to king Frederik II of Denmark and Norway at the Castle of Copenhagen on July 20, 1572. She gave birth to 7 children: Elisabeth, Duchess of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel -Anna, queen of Scotland and England. She was married to king James VI and I of Scotland and England. - Christian IV, king of Denmark and Norway - Ulrik, prince and bishop of Schleswig and Schwerin - Augusta, Duchess of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp - Hedwig, Electress of Saxony. She was married to the elector Christian II of Saxony. - and finally prince Hans, who was engaged to marry Xenia, daughter of zar Boris Godunov of Russia. He died 1602, shortly before the wedding. During her long dowry (43 years) the queen lived at her castle in Nykoebing on the island of Falster
