Wilma M. Bronemann, 80, of Monticello, passed away Monday, January 16, 2006, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center in Monticello, following an extended illness.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello. Memorials may be made to Peace Untied Church of Christ or Camp Courageous in her memory.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 21, at Peace United Church of Christ in Monticello, with Rev. Peter Wenzel officiating. Burial will be in the Olin Cemetery, Olin, Iowa.

Wilma Marie Ehler was born December 7, 1925, in Jones County, near Anamosa, the daughter of Nicolas and Matilda (Luckstead) Ehler. She graduated from Olin High School with the class of 1943. She married George Rudolph Zimmerman on July 20, 1944, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Olin. Together they farmed in Jones County near Olin. George preceded her in death on May 10, 1958. She became employed as a cook in the Olin Consolidated Schools. She married Loren Kenneth Bronemann on July 12, 1961, in Monticello. The couple made their home in Monticello, where she worked at the Monty Caf, Edwards Department Store and REM Electric. Loren preceded her in death on November 20, 1996.

Surviving are two sons, James (Marianne) Zimmerman of Center Point and Gary (Margie) Zimmerman of Austin, MN; two step-daughters, Linda (Paul) Von Behren of Fremont, NE, and Janet (Edward) Allaire of Monticello; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Alice Ehler of Anamosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one brother, George Ehler.
