Mrs. Laura A Betts, former resident of Dubuque, 86, of 684 Ford St., Elgin IL., died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the home of her son James, at Elgin.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday at the Siegert Funeral Home. Funeral sercives will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Siegert's, Rev. Fred Nimtz, pastor of Center Grove Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Center Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Betts was a member of the Womens Benefit Association.
She was born at Dubuque, daughter of the late Ambrose and Elizabeth (Heslop) Hird and made her home in Dubuque until 1927 when she moved to Elgin, Ilinois.
Surviving are three sons: Arthur, Rochester, Minn.: Victor, Dubuque, and James, Elgin, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. Bess Dugan, Dubuque; 10 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
