Jennie Roth was born in Beaver Brook, Pennsylvania, the 2nd of 10 children born to William Christopher and Annie Williams Roth. Her family moved to Hazleton when she was young and she lived there until about 1907 when she married Howard Jacob Meikrantz. Jennie and Howard lived for at least 30 years in Carbon County and their 3 children, Elmer, Helene and Anna were raised in that county although they went to high school in Hazleton. Later in life Jennie and Howard moved back to the Hazleton area, living on East Juniper Street. When Jennie was 84, she moved to St. Luke Manor. She died at age 86. Her funeral was at Rosenstock Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph A. Dower officiating at the services. She was creamated and buried in the Vine Street Cemetary Lot 0208A.5 There is no gravestone marker.
