Greer, Ronald "Ronnie" Meredith Alexander, 65, of 1396 Milford Church Road, died June 14, 2012 at Alpha Health and Rehab.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late Grady Livingston and Ruth Helen Horne Alexander, he was a graduate of Greer High School and a retired employee of Carotell Paper. Mr. Alexander was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, a member of Vietnam Veterans of America #523, Greer DAV Chapter of 39, and National Order of Trench Rats Chapter 638, where he was the imperial executive Rat for the ninth district.

He was former adjutant of Greer DAV for 30 years and service officer for 26 years. Mr. Alexander was a member of Faith Temple.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Smith Alexander of the home; one son, John J. Alexander and wife Jessica of Taylors; one daughter Ruth Ann Lindsey and husband Tony of Lyman; one brother David Alexander of Piedmont; one sister Rosemary Alexander of Greenville; five grandchildren, Allison Lindsey, Kara Lindsey, Aubrey Alexander, Erin Alexander and Autumn Alexander and nephew Sgt. Bryan Pate.

Mr. Alexander was predeceased by a daughter Cherrie Alexander.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Sunday at Faith Temple conducted by Rev. Raymond Burrows, Mr. Don Lollis and Mr. Pat Ramsey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.

Pallbearers will be Ron McCutcheon, Alan Tucker, Eric Odom, Michael Juarez, Roger Tate, and Eddie Smith.

Honorary escort will be the DAV Chapter 39 and Vietnam Veterans. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Saturday at Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
