Harry Inman was murdered by two negro men while taking care of the grocery store of his brother Ham Inman about 3:20 p.m. on April 30, 1919. The men were apprehended and were taken directly to Fort Madison Penitentiary with out being brought to Keokuk. On June 2, 1919 George Morris and William Scott were sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Harry Inman.
