Edward Augustus Lapham, born in 1835, was the youngest son of Isaac and Dorcas (Cutts) Lapham, and grandson of Rogers Lapham.
Mr. Lapham was a farmer. He served several years as buying and selling agent for the Pittston Grange but in 1886 he ran his own store. He was postmaster at Pittston from 1889 to at least 1892.
He married Myra E. Beedle, daughter of James Beedle. Their children were:
1. Addie L.
2. Ivane V., b. 1863 d. 1874
3. Frank M., b. 1866, who was town clerk, and timekeeper and paymaster for the Great Falls Ice Company.
4. Isaac N.
5. Alice I., b. 1876 d. 1876
