A retired air-conditioning technician, he died at 3:32 a.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008, at his home in Denham Springs. He was 80, born Feb. 15, 1928, a native of Opelousas and a U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a machinist mate with the rank of petty officer third class.

Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, June 16, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday from noon until service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Vincent Dufrene. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by his wife, Dora B. Morris; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and David Braud, Karla and Jeff Needham, and Kelli and Ted Thibodeaux; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Brenda Morris and Troy and Peggy Morris; sister, Pat Desoto; brother, David Morris; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myra St. Cyr Morris; brother, James K. Morris; sisters, Myrtle Williams and Stella Elisar; and grandson, Brian Chambers II.

Pallbearers will be Adrien Delapasse, John Bertrand Jr., Clay Needham, David W. Braud Jr. and Jason P. Reed.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Denham Springs, Silver Sneakers exercise group, former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denham Springs.
