                        Suicided.

Arthur Hagberg yesterday received a telegram from Superior, Wis., informing him that his cousin, Frank Honnett, had committed suicide by shooting himself through the head. Deceased lived here several years ago with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Honnett, and was 19 [sic] years of age. He had asthma and ended his life to escape the suffering of the disease. His father was at one time in the grocery business here with Mr. Hagberg under the firm name of Hagberg & Honnett. The remains will be brought to this city for burial in Evergreen cemetery, Mr. and Mrs. Honnett having several children buried here. (Brainerd Dispatch, 15 February 1901, p. 1, c. 6)

           The Suicide of Frank Honnett.

The Duluth News Tribune has the following to say regarding the suicide of Frank Honnett at Superior on Friday of last week, and whose funeral was held in this city on Saturday:
Yesterday morning about 7 o'clock, Frank Honnett, aged 19 years, shot and killed himself at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Honnett, 1213 North Fifth street, and death ensued at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. The bullet entered the head on the right side and took a downward course. From the time it was fired until dead young Honnett did not regain consciousness. The only reason that can be assigned for the rash deed was despondency, caused by continued sickness. Yesterday morning, when called at the usual time, the young man seemed to feel some worse than usual. Instead of remaining downstairs and going to the store, he said he would return to his room and lie down awhile. This he did, and was there about an hour when his sister heard a shot. She rushed downstairs and told her parents, and when an investigation was made Frank was writhing in agony as a result of his self-inflected wounds. Immediate steps were taken to preserve the life of the young man, and Dr. Hafsahl was summoned, who did everything possible to locate the bullet and remove it, but without success. Mr. and Mrs. Honnett have resided in this city for many years, and are well and favorably known. Frank was also a favorite with the young people with whom he was acquainted. Mr. Honnett has conducted a grocery store on Fifth street for several years and is quite well-to-do, owning the two-story brick building in which he transacts business.
