PARTIN, DOROTHY JEANNE PLATT, 84, of St. Cloud passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at home with her family by her side. A member of a Pioneer Osceola County Ranching Family, she was born in Melbourne, Florida, the youngest of eight children and daughter of Hiram Platt and Katherine Martha Sumner Platt and has been a resident of Osceola County most of her life. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Cloud, FL, a long time member of the Silver Spurs Club, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003, P.E.O. Chapter "L" since 1965, a member of the Osceola County and Florida Cattlewomen's Association, a Pink Lady at St. Cloud Regional Hospital, Girl Scout Leader and 4-H Leader, Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, R. Earl Partin in 2010. Dorothy is survived by her son Dave (Cindy) Partin of Kenansville, FL; daughters: Barbara Marshall of St. Cloud, FL, Janie Pickering of Lake Mary, FL, Lida (Robert) Christian of Hondo, TX, Cindy (Charlie) Chestnut of Ft. White, FL, and Diane Partin of Ocala. FL.; 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A graveside service Celebrating the Life of Dorothy Jeanne Platt Partin will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee, and FL. with Reverend Leonard Thompson of the HeartCry Chapel officiating.
