According to the Council Bluffs Nonpareil, Inez and Jean Bregant were vaudeville performers appearing on the same bill at Coney Island, New York when they met. They married in Council Bluffs in 1905. At that time Inez, age 18, was 43 inches tall and weighed 45 pounds; Jean, age 35, was 46 inches tall and weighed 66 pounds. Following their vaudeville career, they lived in Council Bluffs. From their home there they toured 20 states and appeared on company advertisements and products while working for the Woodward Candy Company, one of the largest candy manufacturers in the nation in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Their historical house, built in 1912, is a colonial revival-influenced cottage built and furnished to scale for its diminutive owners. Note: Their surname also appears as Bregantz in some documents.

According to the 1940 U.S. Census, Inez was living in Council Bluffs with her husband Jean; she was 52 years old at that time and was born in Colorado. Also, they married 25 December 1905 in Council Bluffs, IA. Her father's name was P. R. Lewis. Thanks to Paula A. Tomey-Allen for providing this information.

The house shown is where they lived here in Council Bluffs. The house has been acquired by the Historical Society and restored as much as possible to it's original state.
