John J. Lintner, 80, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2012 at his residence.
He was born April 4, 1932 in Chicago, the son of the late Dr. John J. Lintner II and Lucille Luers Lintner. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tim Lintner of Valkaria, Florida in September 2001. He married Peggy Joyce Swing in Rensselaer, Indiana and they later divorced. He married Doris Gephart Bowen on June 30, 1972 in Pine Village, Indiana. She survives.
Also surviving are sons, John J. Lintner, Jr. (companion, Jennifer Hunter) of Lutz, Florida; Steve Bowen (wife, Wanda) of Boswell and Jeff Bowen of Boswell; a grandson, Ryan Lintner of Cincinnati; step-grandchildren, Shawn Yantis of Knoxville, Tennessee, Chris Yantis of Lafayette and Michelle Yantis of Otterbein; eight step-great grandchildren; ,sister-in-laws, Donna Booth of Las Vegas and Phyllis Gephart of Tucson, Arizona; cousins, Rev. Richard Lintner (wife, Gloria) of Urbandale, Iowa and Ruth Russell of Grand Ledge, Michigan and former wife, Peggy Orr (husband, Allen) of Lafayette.
He served in the US Air Force as a photographic technician in the Strategic Air Command.
