Simeon was the son of James Ball and Lucinda Phillips .

Simeon married Sophia and they lived most of there life in Thayer, Nebraska. They had no children of their own. One of his nephews came to live with them for awhile. In 1943 Sophia passed away and he moved to Shannon County, Missouri where his family resided. After moving to Missouri, he married Cora McMorris in 1949.

Note: There is a grave marker for him in Thayer, Nebraska, beside his wife but he is buried in Missouri, in the cemetery with his brother, James Alex Ball .
