He was born Feb. 28, 1948, in High Point, a son of Lawrence Richard and Mary Allred Covington. He was employed with Sears in Greensboro and was a former employee with Piedmont Ford.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ashley Covington Hoover and her husband, Jeffrey, and Miss Angela Lynn Covington, both of Denton; a sister, Mrs. James (Gayle) Cox of High Point; and his uncle, Paul Allred of the residence.
Memorial graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Bryan Adkins and the Rev. Hulon Pate. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Home, E. Lexington Avenue.
