Clyde and Mary lived in Claremore, Oklahoma; Ft. Smith, Arkansas; Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma; and finally Muskogee, Oklahoma. Since Clyde Love worked construction, as a heavy equipment operator, the Love family moved with his work. Mary worked as a waitress. Mary's parents lived near the Love family, and after her sister Nannie passed away, Mary helped them to rear her nephew, Donald Gullett. Mary and Clyde Love divorced after 1956. Mary remained in Muskogee and never remarried. In her later years, Mary cared for her father, Gus Graham, as he aged.
Mary was an outstanding cook. She was a master at making homemade pies. Her mother having been a professional cook, Mary learned the art of cooking. Mary passed many of her mother's cooking secrets to her family for future generations to enjoy. Mary was always meticulous with her appearance and maintained her skin integrity, even as she aged.
Mary enjoyed country music, dancing, and country style entertainment. Of course, being from Claremore, Mary was a Will Rogers fan. Mary showed a great compassion and love for dogs. There was never a stray dog, within her eyesight, that Mary failed to feed. She advocated for each dog she encountered.
Mary displayed a bold and gregarious personality. She never hesitated to pursue introductions, friendships, or interactions with people. She was direct, outspoken, blunt, tenacious, and masterful at obtaining information that she wished to pursue. Mary was always loyal to her family. She did not waiver when she knew her decision/position was correct.
As Mary aged she battled arthritis, anemia, and diverticulitis. Mary passed away on 10/23/1998 at the age of 86, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
