Sandra "Sandy" McGuire of Cadillac, Michigan, passed away August 21, 2006 at her home. She was 65 years old.
Sandra was born on April 23, 1941 to Paul & Mary (Squires) Earl in Cadillac and had lived there all her life. She graduated from Cadillac High School in 1959 and went on to Aquinas College in Grand rapids, Michigan, to receive her bachelor's degree, and then on to Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, for her master's degree.
Sandy worked as a family counselor at St. Ann School in Cadillac, and at McBain Public School where she also was a teacher. Sandy also did vocational evaluations for high school students.
She enjoyed being a fulltime grandmother, mother, and mentor. She was the Vice President on the YMCA board in Cadillac, and had served on the board of the Pregnancy Resource Center, which is now called Care Net. She was active with the Cadillac High School band boosters, Relay for Life, and the Bosom Buddies. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Marion, and of the Mary Magdaline Circle of St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac.
She married James C. McGuire on April 25, 1964 in Cadillac and he survives her along with their four children.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2006 at 12:00 noon at the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Cadillac with Reverends Francis Murphy and Joe Fix as Celebrants. Burial will be in the Silver Lake Cemetery near Wolverine. -- }}
