Mr. Henry Major, 80, went to be with his Lord on July 29, 2012. After graduating from Clarksville High School in 1950, he enlisted in the U S Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Austin Peay State University in 1962 and began a long time banking career with First National Bank and First Union Bank in Clarksville.

He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church in Clarksville.

He is survived by daughters Sarah (Mike) Wilkins of Southside, TN and Diane (Donnie) Golden of Clarksville, TN. He is also survived by brother Robert Major of Joelton, TN and eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by wife Ester Galstrap Major and daughters, Rosemary Major, Sherry Reese and Angela Shipley.

Funeral services were conducted by Reverend John Black at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, Clarksville, TN.

The music was provided by Blane Michael Wilkins, 11 year old great grandson, who played the guitar and sang Amazing Grace - My Chains are Gone and Praise You in This Storm. Additional music was provided by Jack Roney, 17 year old friend of the Wilkins family, who played the guitar and sang Lord Lead Me Home.

Pallbearers were John Wilkins, grandson; Brian Wilkins, great grandson; Donnie Golden; son in law, Don Priest; son in law; Bob Major, nephew; and Shane Sykes, grandson in law.

Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville, TN.
