Woman Pioneer To Be Laid To Rest Wednesday

MONTESANO, June 22.--(Special)
Funeral services for Miss Ethel Baker, Harbor pioneer and former county official who died here Sunday at her home
following a long illness, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the family residence. Interment will be in
Wynooche cemetery under the direction of the Whiteside company.
Miss Baker was the oldest in point of service, of any of the courthouse officials here, having been in office continuously
since 1908. She served two terms as county audiotor, ending January 1, 1923, and later was deputy auditor. Early last year
she was appointed treasurer when Mrs. Olive F. Dunning resigned to become deputy state treasurer.
Miss Baker was born in Porter, Novemeber 9, 1875, and spent all but seven years of her life in this county. She had lived
in Montesano for 38 years. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. (sic) Baker, of Dryad, a brother Floyd, also of
Dryad, another brother, Ernest of Eugene, Oregon, and a sister, Miss Margaret Baker, of Montesano.
In respect to her memory, the county court house will be closed from 2 until 4 o'clock Wednesday, during the time of the
funeral service.
