Mrs. Frank Smith, 949 2nd Ave. E., died Tuesday at the General and Marine Hospital following a shot illness. She was in her 70th year. Mrs. Smith was born near Oliphant. She was the former Hannah Renshaw, daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Renshaw. She was predeceased by her first husband (William Silas Thompson) in August 1920, surviving from this marriage are one son Levi of Ohio; three daughters, Irene, Mrs. Fred Smith of London; Hazel, Mrs. H. Thompson (sic - Tasker) of Southampton; Jean, Mrs. Albert Willis of Oxenden. She remarried in 1924 to Frank Smith and was predeceased by him on July 27, 1954. Surviving from this marriage are four sons, Danny of British Columbia, Mervyn of Elliott Lake, Gordon of Sault Ste. Marie and Cecil of Toronto; two daughters, Florence, Mrs. Clifford McCartney of Wiarton and Agnes, Mrs. Harold McCartney of Chatsworth; three brothers, Zeb Renshaw of Fort William, Albert of Wiarton and Perley of White Rock, B.C.; one sister, Bertha, Mrs. B. Hyatt of Wiarton; 38 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and of the Church Women's Organization. The funeral is in charge of the Tannahill Funeral Home. Burial at Colpoy's Bay (Edgehill) Cemetery.
