Denmark and Norway Monarch. She was born in Leicester House in London as the daughter of King George II of Great Britain and Hannover and queen Caroline von Brandenburg-Ansbach. Married by proxy in Hannover Nov. 10 1743 and in person in Copenhagen Dec.11 1743 to crownprince Frederik, later king Frederik V of Denmark and Norway. She gave birth to 5 children: queen Sophie Magdalene of Sweden, Wilhelmine, electress of Hessen-Kassel, King Christian VII and landgräfin Louise of Hessen-Kassel (the mother of Frederik VI'th queen Marie Sophie Frederikke, and the grandmother of king Christian IX). 1 son died in infancy. The queen was deeply mourned when she died in child-labour.
