Childs had suffered with a heart ailment for several years.
The services will be held at Louisiana Memorial Methodist Church with interment in Myrtle Grove Cemetery. Lafond and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Childs was a native and life-long resident of Opelousas. He had been connected with the local bank for 48 years and served as cashier for the last 20 years prior to his retirement in 1959.
He had served as chairman of the board of St. Edwards of Louisiana Memorial Methodist church and had filled various other offices in the church.
Childs is survived by three sons, George Creighton Childs, Baton Rouge, Louis Pulford, Eunice, and Nathan Marion Childs Jr., New Orleans; three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Childs, Mrs. Algy Rose and Mrs. Luther Byrd, all of Opelousas; one brother and one sister.
