Bernice Buckingham Welsh, 81, of Mt. Airy, died Wednesday at Randallstown Convalescent Center in Randallstown.
She was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church
and a past president of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church
Women. She and her husband operated a country store in Mt.
Olive for 40 years.
Born in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late
Otis B. and Ella May Harrison Buckingham. Her husband,
Oliver 0. Welsh, predeceased her in 1969.
Surviving are son Jackson O. of Topsfield, Mass.; daughter
Rita W. Nikirk of Mt. Airy; sisters Levantia B. Plunkert and
Lucille B. Grimes, both of Westminster; eight grandchildren
and one great grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday from the Mt. Olive
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert McCullough
assisting the Rev. Donald M. Smith, former pastor of her
church, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Burrier Funeral Home
in Winfield.
