He was suffering from blood poison and it was decided to amputate his leg in hopes of saving his life.
He was a teamster by occupation.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clara Whittier and Cora Tiss, Utica; three brothers, William, Lowville; Frank, Carthage and Alfred.
